Mexican Authorities Shutdown Clinic Where King Dies

Mexican authorities have shut down the clinic where Coretta Scott King died last Tuesday. However, no information is available as to why the facility has been closed.

Suspicion about the facility and it's practices mounted after the death of the 78-year-old Civil Rights Icon. Noted for holistic and non-traditional medical treatments, The Santa Monica Health Institute has become a magnet for those afflicted with cancer and other chronic ailments. Founded in 1983 by Dr. Kurt W. Donsbach, sources reveal that most of those the clinic attracts are cancer patients. King was suffering from late-stage ovarian cancer.

The US Embassy in Mexico confirmed the closing and said that they were currently assisting with the relocation of other American patients. So far there is no word on whether anyone at the clinic is accused of wrong doing. According to reports, Mexican authorities have been reviewing the operations of a number of rehabilitative centers over the course of a year and some have been closed.
